Hi, good to see you around! It’s been a while.

As to the car, why not?

In Murka, these first year W211s don’ t have the best rep. Cool seeing a wheel style that was never offered here.

Tavarish would think these pre-turbo V8 Mercs are solid buys. Though he would buy an S-class with issues that he would fix himself for far less:

I got 15k sitting there to buy my wife’s first car (she’s older than me but a late comer to the whole driving thing) and I keep straying from the Hyundai i30s and Holden Cruzes and end up at this lol

Funny thing is I don’t even drive anymore since I bought a motorbike so I really don’t have much of a stake on it; other than I’m paying for it.

I’m the type of home mechanic that after finishing a job; I have a handful of stuff left over; which I then throw into the engine bay and quickly shut the bonnet, look at my nearest mate and say “they’ll find their way home aye”

This is fine for Falcons and Commodores

Yeah I have been reading, moved the budget to 20k for a Mazda CX5 because, oh I have a child now, but have to move it back to 15k ( possibly a diesel Ford Territory?) because i have to fork out a bit of money to get the mother-in-law’s Nissan Patrol fixed.

other than t iming belt at 150k on Territory dsl, expensive if using genuine parts (over $1K) i’m  not aware of issues with them
